Esplendida came to Moonstruck in December 2004 from our dear friend Carolyn Ramos. She is now fondly referred to as "Splenda" and she is the grand dame of the barn. She is not only the dam of our lovely Catalina and Sonador, and the newest addition, Montego, but also the grand dam of our Salsa and Camille and the great grand dam of Tap, sold in 2004 to Mary Massey. Splenda is a wonderful part of our group because she is an outstanding producer, she is nearly pure Carthusian and carries a black gene.

Always a favorite mount. Splenda carried sister, Emily, on a Spring break 2006 beach ride. Still two months from foaling, but looking very pregnant.
