Manzanita is sired by the 1988 National Champion stallion - Americano.  Americano was only 3 years old when he was awarded this pretigious title.  See two reference photos of Americano below.

Photos of Legionario III, Captain XIII, and Capitano also below.  You can see where Manzanita's quality comes from.

Americano was National Champion Stallion at the young age of 3 years.  A lovely horse who only produced an few off spring before his early demise.

Legionario III is unquestionably the most famous Andalusian stallion in our time ... He is the sire and grandsire of many National Champion horses, including Americano, the 1988 National Champion stallion.  Mercedes II, also in Manzanita's pedigree, produced the 1985 National Champion, Temerario VI.  Legionario is a pure Carthusian Andalusian bred by the famous Terry family.  Legionario was Spanish National Champion in 1969.

Captain XIII is of pure Terry blood and was imported to the US in 1969.  He was bred extensively from 1969-76 producing 40 off spring.  He was owned by Allan Parkinson and ultimately exported to Mexico by Gabriel and Thersa Alarcon.  Capitano, one of his most famous off spring was bred by Garrison Ranch and trained to high school movements.
