With little warning Phoebe left us on Dec 10, 2005. A valiant effort was made to save her, but it just wasn't enough.
Her spirit was stronger than her body.
"The final cause of dogs having such short lives...
is in compassion to the human race;
for if we suffer so much in losing a dog after an acquaintance of ten or twelve years,
what would it be like if they were to live double that time?"
Sir Walter Scott

I was chosen today |
Did I love you enough? Did I hug you enough? Did I feed you enough treats? You were always such a warrior.
Did I love you enough? Did I brush your black coat enough? Did I take you with me enough? You would have died to protect me.
Did I love you enough? Did I keep you warm and safe? Did I try hard enough to save you? You left before I knew.
Did I love you enough?

Phoebe (on left) and her pal, Mason.
Phoebe was bred by my friend, Cynthia Thames of Mon Amie Bouviers. I showed Phoebe to both her Canadian and American Championships along with several group placements. She finished her American Championship in two weekends of showing - an almost unheard of circumstance. Phoebe basked in her role as my companion and protector.

Phoebe, always willing to put up with my antics, agreed to dress up for Halloween 2004.
